Has anyone tried out Yoga/Pilates and how has it helped you?

I am looking for something to help my flexibility. I work out a lot and run and play tennis but I have always been really inflexible. The older I get, the more problems with next day soreness that causes. How much does Yoga and stuff like that help to eliminate the soreness I feel a lot (usually in the lower middle back and hammies). Thanks in advance.

I have been doing Yoga and Pilates for about 2 years and it has COMPLETELY changed my life! I would seriously reccommend you give it a try! Just buy a good workout DVD and put it to the test! Pilates and Yoga is a near-perfect fitness routine, it provides the means for people of any age not only to get and stay in shape but also to develop balance, coordination, and a sense of centeredness. It renews, invigorates, and heals the body – stretching and toning the muscles, joints, and spine and directing blood and oxygen to the internal. You get an incredibly intense workout, but it is incredibly low impact and at the same time its not easy, Pilates and Yoga both can be very challenging. BUT! You NEVER feel stiff or umcomfortable afterwards and it has eliminated the sore back I got from years of running! GIVE IT A TRY! YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!
