I have 7-8 weeks to break a 5 minute mile, running on track? Help!?

I am training myself at the moment for another two weeks. Then, in my local club there is a 1 mile race every thursday night(4laps of the track) which goes on for about 6 weeks.

Last year my best was 5:33 and I have gotten increasingly better. My training is consisting of speed training and tempo runs. I am running 200’s in 34-37 sec’s. Speed is not my problem, I am doing 400’s @ 1:12 with a rest after each. What can I do to accomplish this!!

P.S. It’s a bet with my older brother. He reckons I can’t do it!!!

I am running 200’s in 34-37 sec’s.(That is not flat out, leaving energy to continue running at a slighly slower pace) Speed is not my problem I don’t think!, I am doing 400’s @ 1:12 with a rest after each( Again I am not killing myself on these as i continue to run at a slower pace before doing the speed run again). What can I do to accomplish this!!

P.S. It’s a bet with my older brother. He reckons I can’t do it!!!
Started last year at 6:14 on the 1st night, by the last night I was 5:33.

I’ve got a similar goal in mind. So what I’ve been doing is every thing you have + 10-12 mile distance run once a week
